Trade–in pledge for those affected by Galaxy Note 7 debacle, too

Samsung has confirmed it’s already working on the next–generation Galaxy S8, with the promise of a ‘slick design’, a revamped camera and ‘an enhanced artificial intelligence service’.
Samsung's head of mobile, Lee Kyeong–tae, revealed the news to the Wall Street Journal, as the Korean company attempts to win back customers following the recall of its flagship Galaxy Note 7.
People who were forced to exchange their Note 7 phone for a Galaxy S7 due to exploding batteries will be able to trade in their handsets for a Galaxy S8 when it launches, Lee said.
There have already been plenty of rumours surrounding Samsung’s new smartphone, but this is the first time we’ve heard official word about the company’s plans.
Recent reports suggested Samsung is priming a dual-lens camera to rival Apple’s iPhone 7 Plus.
The inclusion of a new virtual assistant, along the lines of Google Assistant and Apple’s Siri, is no surprise following Samsung’s recent acquisition of AI firm Viv Labs. Viv created the technology behind Siri.
The Galaxy S8 is set to launch around next year’s Mobile World Congress event, which kick off in early March.
